What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy explores how your food choices impact your health, both short and long term. It considers your entire body’s needs, focusing on how eating habits influence your overall well-being, physical and mental performance, and the ageing process. This approach suits anyone looking to improve fitness, boost energy, or take a proactive approach to long-term health

As a nutritional therapist, I focus on how what you eat and how you live affects your health and well-being.
Together, we work to:

  • Optimise your nutrient intakes

  • Support your digestion, absorption, and gut microbiome

  • Maintain the function of neurotransmitters that control how you think and feel

  • Help your body manage inflammation and immunity

  • Perform at your best, whether at work or in the gym

  • Nurture a healthy relationship with food

  • Prioritise based on your personal health and genetics

How it works

Preparing Food.png

1. Comprehensive Health Review
We begin by assessing your overall well-being, including sleep, stress, activity, and routines, to get a full picture of your health beyond diet.

2. Lifestyle and Health Overview
We’ll explore how your lifestyle and eating habits have developed over time, including early life influences, to understand their impact on your current health.

3. Understanding Health Patterns
We’ll identify patterns in your health and lifestyle that may contributing to current challenges, focusing on insights rather than diagnoses.

4. Personalised Plan Creation

Together, we’ll create a realistic, tailored plan that fits into your daily life and is designed to support long-term success.

5. Ongoing Support and Change

I provide continuous support as you make adjustments and progress, helping you stay on track and adapt as needed.

How is Nutritional Therapy Different?

Nutritional therapists focus on personalised care, addressing your unique health needs by considering factors like nutritional status, food sensitivities, environmental influences, lifestyle, and personal health circumstances.

Unlike dietitians, who often work in medical settings like hospitals, or nutritionists who offer general advice and public health education, nutritional therapists provide independent 1-1 consultations and tailored nutrition support to enhance your overall well-being.

Is Nutritional Therapy right for you?

Nutritional therapy can benefit a wide range of people, but I primarily work with busy professionals who:

  • Feel constantly tired or stressed

  • Struggle with digestive issues that impact daily life

  • Want to manage their weight in a sustainable way

  • Don’t feel as good as they know they should

If you are looking for a personalised health approach beyond generic advice, nutritional therapy may be right for you. Together, we’ll make small, realistic changes to your diet and lifestyle that fit your schedule, preferences, and needs. These adjustments will help you feel and perform at your best while being sustainable and enjoyable.

You don’t need to completely overhaul your life to feel better. We work together to make sure any recommended changes to your eating habits feel manageable alongside your current lifestyle. Depending on your health goals, and your current dietary routines, we can agree on the most beneficial improvements you can make first, and build on these over time. Within a few months, these changes can make a big difference to your health, without ever feeling overwhelmed.

Making healthy changes isn’t about intensive programs that are overly restrictive and difficult to follow. I want to help you increase the variety of healthy, nutritious and tasty ingredients and explore new ways of preparing food so you can enjoy both your meals and your progress.
